Superintendent
As another school year begins, we are proud of the tremendous progress we have made and remain focused on our continuing mission to improve the academic skills of every student.
Our students are showing greater proficiency in Math and English Language Arts as we have made significant strides in implementing programs specifically designed to help students become academically proficient.
The District, in partnership with publisher Houghton Mifflin, is developing a new comprehensive electronic lesson planning and resource system called Learning Village. The Bakersfield City School District is gaining national attention as we continue to develop a user-friendly system to provide our teachers electronic access to instructional resources to simplify and customize the instructional lesson-planning process.
The District’s 2006 Measure G bond funds are being used to modernize and update schools across the district. We are also planning for the future construction of new schools in areas of residential growth.
We are proud of the progress we have made and look forward to meeting the challenges ahead. Our children are our most precious asset and we are grateful for the efforts of those who volunteer their time and resources to assist us in preparing our students for the future. Thank you.
